SMITHSONIAN TO LAUNCH DIG IT! SOILS EXHIBIT

 Dig It! The Secrets of Soil exhibit will open to the public, Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, in Washington, D.C. Visitors will learn about the part soil plays in almost every aspect of human existence—food, housing, clothing, medicine, ecosystems and much more. The exhibit will remain in D.C. until January 2010 and will tour across the United States from May 2010 to September 2013.

ORGANIC FIELD DAY

On Wednesday, July 30 from 9:00am - 3:30pm the USDA Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC) scientists and leading Maryland organic farmers will discuss research results and experiences growing organic field crops and forages.
