  • Area: 359.6 square miles

  • Farmland: Estimated area in farms: 70 percent as of January 2005

  • Elevations: highest- 535 feet (on US 222 south of Rock Springs)

  • Shoreline: 200 miles of shoreline

  • 2004 Population: 95,526 (246.9 persons/ square mile)

  • Annual Precipitation: 48 inches (13.8 inches of snowfall)

  • Average Frost-free Days: 191 (USDA plant hardiness zones 6B and 7A)

  • Wetlands: Approximately 9,000 acres in wetlands (1996 estimate)

  • Forested Area: 88,067 (1996 figure)
